Our client is seeking a Plant Controller to take full control of the costing processes, methods and procedures.

This position will require an individual who understands how to and who enjoys interacting with the shop floor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and direct the activities of plant accounting to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, annual budgets and monthly and quarterly forecasts.
• Manage the monthly closing and ensure monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts are performed and are accurate.
• Analyze overhead, cost of sales and actual manufacturing costs compared to budget, forecast and prior periods.  Prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs, and reports factors affecting prices and profitability of products.
• Provide thoughtful analytical metrics and identify areas of focus for cost saving.
• Coordinate and lead physical inventories and ensure inventory is reported accurately.
• Ensure plant fixed assets and repairs are appropriately accounted for, including preparation or review of capital expenditure requests.
• Ensure production processes that impact the financial information are performed accurately.
• Proactively identifies manufacturing cost trends that impact the business and financial results.  Works closely with the Plant Manager to produce accurate and timely financial analysis.
• Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
• Perform other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of progressive cost experience
• Exceptional systems skills, including prior ERP experience
